I reflect on recent bodies of water. Namely, a waterfall in Theth, Albania. Grunas is perhaps its name, I need to check. It is second in popularity after The Blue Eye, but, in my opinion, just as much of a spectacle, if not more. Smaller in size and body and depth but higher up a trail with a longer view down the rocks and stone, closer to the village. There were less human bodies when we visited, less bodies to swim, only a few actually braved the cold temperature of the water. The spray from the fall as it struck the pool it made below alchemised with the air to make a perpetual rainbow - this could be described as making-with or sympoiesis (sun creation in Greek). No snakes visible here in Grunas, whereas a poisonous one is close to Blue Eye. I stare at its dappled skin, red and yellow dots like that of an aboriginal painting on a crooked didgeridoo. The snake's body warped like driftwood, disappearing into the side of the grassy stone and earth wall, as our bodies surround it to gaze in awe - a young boy sprinting downstream as an old man prods it with a branch to see if it will show its face.
